XII · The Hanged Man
The Hanged Man
It is voluntary surrender and the shift of perspective. A man hangs serenely from a T-shaped gibbet, suspended by one foot, his free leg crossed. His face radiates peace and a golden halo surrounds his head. He does not suffer: he has chosen to pause, see the world upside down and understand from another viewpoint.
Meaning
In the light · upright
Surrender, new perspective, pause, illumination.
In shadow · reversed
Stagnation, useless sacrifice, victimhood, paralysis.
Mantra
“When I surrender and let go, the world turns right side up.”
